FC Barcelona is in a tizzy at the moment. First, the board needs to sort out the issues they have with La Liga’s financial fair play, and get that famous 1:1 rule back. This would allow them to spend every euro that comes into the club’s coffers, something they can’t do at the moment. To do this, they’ll need to sell players with a certain value, or sign deals that are financially attractive.

The goal is to offer a nice squad to Hansi Flick, the new tactician of FC Barcelona. The Catalans are particularly interested in the Nico Williams case, which is daily in the headlines of the sports media in our Iberian neighbors. At the same time, there is also talk of a blaugrana interest in another European champion, and not the least: Dani Olmo. Two potential heavyweight reinforcements…

A substantial price

And behind then? Barça seems rather well-stocked, and the objective is above all to keep a player who was loaned last season: João Cancelo. Unlike his namesake and compatriot João Félix, the full-back has convinced the Barcelona management. But as explained World SportsManchester City is not making things easy. Even if the Cityzens and Pep Guardiola are not really counting on him, they do not want to sell him off to the Catalans. The English champion is thus demanding 30 million euros for the man who played 32 Liga games last season, for 2 goals and 4 assists.

A significant amount for Barça at the moment, and this while the player is ready to make sacrifices on the financial level. Manchester City want to sell him permanently and not let him go as part of a new loan. Suffice to say that things are not looking good for FC Barcelona at the moment…
