London club Chelsea are preparing to thwart OM’s plans for a reinforcement during this transfer window.

Chelsea are close to concluding an agreement with Villarreal goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, who was also in OM’s sights to replace Pau Lopez (who left for Como).

British outlet The Athletic claims that Chelsea are in advanced talks to sign the Dane. Jorgensen himself prefers a move to Chelsea over Marseille despite the assurance of being the number 1.

OM can’t compete with Chelsea

Chelsea are ready to pay 20 to 25 million euros for Jorgensen. An amount that the Olympians are not able to match given their current economic situation.

His contract with Villarreal runs until the summer of 2029. The contract includes a buyout clause of €45 million, but Villarreal are willing to sell for around half of that sum.
