Castello Lukeba didn’t beat around the bush before diving into the Olympic football tournament with the French team. The young RB Leipzig central defender (21 years old) hopes to win gold: “The goal is to go all the way,” he said in an interview with L’Equipe.

I remember watching Usain Bolt on TV when I was little, he reigned supreme in sprinting for a long time… My friends and I would race and pretend to be him. At the last Olympics, I also followed Brazil a lot after the Blues, because Bruno Guimaraes was there, I played with him in Lyon. When he came back to France, he showed us his gold medal and honestly… it made you want to go! Here we all have this goal, to go all the way, even if it’s not enough to say it. We can’t wait for the whistle to blow tomorrow and for it to start.”
