This Thursday, Manchester United made official their first major move in the summer transfer window. Far behind the competition at the start, the English club finally won the Leny Yoro deal. The young French defender from Lille arrived at the Red Devils for the modest sum of 62 million euros. “Manchester United are pleased to confirm the arrival of Leny Yoro at the club, subject to registration (with the FA). The French defender has signed a contract until June 2029, with the option to extend for a further year.”wrote Manchester United in its press release. An important transfer that comes just days after the arrival of another recruit.

Last week, the Red Devils also made official the arrival of Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna. The Italian club recovered 42.5 million in this transaction. And after having already spent more than 100 million on the transfer window, Manchester United does not intend to stop there. Under the impetus of Ineos who wants to rebuild the club and give Erik ten Hag a full squad, the priority is now to recruit in midfield. The number one target was Manuel Ugarte (23 years old) for this position. As we revealed to you, discussions have been going on for a while and they are progressing positively between the two clubs, but not only that.

PSG demands 70 million

This Friday, the English press made revelations that clearly point to an imminent outcome. According to information from Daily Mailconfirmed by The SunManchester United have finally reached an agreement with the Uruguayan international on the contract. A big step forward in this matter, but the hardest part remains to be done for the Mancunians: agreeing on the amount of compensation with PSG. The Daily Mail explains that the Parisian management is demanding 70 million to let its midfielder leave.

As a reminder, Manuel Ugarte was recruited last summer for 60 million euros, but does not seem to meet Luis Enrique’s expectations for this position. However, PSG will not want to sell their player cheaply and Manchester United will therefore have to continue to negotiate. The English press also explains that it is possible that the Red Devils will part ways with Scott McTominay or Casemiro to align with Parisian demands while Ugarte is also being followed by other clubs. If this contractual agreement is positive for United, it does not mean that the case is closed either. Far from it…
