The Argentine reactions to the racist chant sung by the players of the Albiceleste team after their Copa America victory are confusing. While some are demanding an apology from Messi’s gang, most are openly critical of the condemnations of this racist act by black French players. This is most recently the case with the economist Juani Fernandez.

The latter responded to Jules Koundé by relaying an article according to which the former Bordeaux player hit his mother. But if you hit your mother, get off the moral throne, because it doesn’t look good on you.“An attack to which the FC Barcelona defender immediately responded.”It doesn’t seem very smart to me to publish a news article full of false information again to divert attention from a racist song. Author of “Freedom for Intelligent People” (title of the book written by Muani Fernandez, editor’s note) may not suit you.»
