AC Milan is busy drawing up its next offensive line. Orphaned by Olivier Giroud, who is about to discover the MLS, and overtaken by Manchester United in the Joshua Zirkzee case, the Rossoneri club has not said its last word. With this in mind, Sky Italy reveals, this Saturday, that the team now coached by Paulo Fonseca has targeted three names for its attack. Determined and ambitious, Zlatan Ibrahimovic would, in this respect, be on the verge of offering Alvaro Morata to the Milanese club.
Currently in Germany to play in the Euro 2024 final against England, the Spanish international striker (79 caps, 36 goals) should, in fact, leave Atlético de Madrid and sign a 4-year contract (plus an optional 5th) with the transalpine team. In Italy, the Madrid native, who has a release clause of 13 million euros, would also be offered a salary of 4.5 million euros per year, or 18 million net in total. But that’s not all. If the 31-year-old player is the priority of the Milanese board, two other names are also being considered.
A Morata-Füllkrug duo?
With this in mind, AC Milan has also assessed the profile of Tammy Abraham, currently playing for AS Roma. While the 26-year-old English striker is particularly appreciated by Paulo Fonseca, the first contacts with the Giallorossi do not inspire optimism on the Milanese side. Indeed, the Rossoneri are reportedly aiming for a loan or an exchange (the name of Jovic is notably mentioned) but Roma have different plans. While new contacts could take place in the coming weeks, the San Siro residents are finally working on one last file. His name? Niclas Füllkrug.
Currently under contract with Borussia Dortmund until June 2026, the 31-year-old German striker is seen as a perfect complement alongside Alvaro Morata. With the upcoming arrival of Serhou Guirassy at the Marsupials, the main person concerned could open the door to a departure. Author of 16 goals and 10 assists in 46 matches in all competitions last season, the 1m89 right-hander would then leave Germany for the first time after having defended the colors of Werder Bremen, Hanover and Greuther Fürth.
