Leicester City find themselves in a very uncomfortable situation. The 2024-2025 English championship has still not started and the British club, back in the English elite only a year after leaving it, is threatened by the Premier League with a terrible sanction. According to The Sunthe Foxes could be deducted 10 points or more before the start of the new campaign after being charged by the Premier League on March 21 for an alleged breach of Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR) during the 2022-23 season.

As a reminder, Leicester City had hired “urgent legal proceedings” against the Premier League and the English Football League – on March 22, 2024 – after being referred to an independent commission following accusations by the governing body. A maneuver ultimately doomed to failure, according to the British tabloid, which nevertheless claims that the Midlands team can still appeal this decision.
