Football fans are all focused on this Euro 2024, of course. But within the clubs, they are already working hard to strengthen the squads. This is obviously the case in Paris, where the leaders have already concluded the arrival of Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov. Other leads such as Dean Huijsen (Juventus), Lutsharel Geertruida (Feyenoord) or Amadou Onana (Everton), the latter two revealed by us, are thus under consideration.

At the same time, some players will have to be separated. As explained in our columns last week, there are two players whose future in Paris is uncertain: Fabian Ruiz, who was brilliant with Spain during the Euro, as well as Milan Skriniar, a central defender who arrived just a year ago and was also present at the Euro. A rather clear message that will logically not necessarily be well received in Paris, where he is under contract until 2028.

Suffice to say that in this story, the player is clearly in a strong position. He intends to fight for a place in Luis Enrique’s starting eleven and is protected by his contractual situation. He is also one of the highest paid players in the Parisian squad, which forces potential suitors to put heavyweights on the table to try to convince him. The arm wrestling match is therefore set to be long, very long…
