There will finally be a Frenchman in the Euro final. If the Blues returned home on Tuesday evening after being eliminated in the semi-finals by Spain (2-1), a French referee will be present in Berlin, Sunday (9 p.m.) for the grand final.
UEFA announced on Thursday that it had appointed François Letexier to referee the Euro final between Spain and England. The 35-year-old official will be assisted by his compatriots Cyril Mugnier and Mehdi Rahmouni. Jérôme Brisard will be in charge of video assistance, supported by Willy Delajod and Italian Massimiliano Irrati. Polish referee Szymon Marciniak will officiate as fourth official.
Voted best referee of the 2023-2024 Ligue 1 season, François Letexier will be officiating his very first final. However, this will be his fourth match in the tournament after Denmark-Serbia, Croatia-Albania and Spain-Georgia.
