Once, but not twice. Last summer, Adrien Rabiot had already reached the end of his contract at Juventus. But the Turin club had managed to convince him to extend. Unfortunately, for only one year. So here is the 29-year-old midfielder again in the situation footballers prefer, the one where they hold all the cards.

Juventus, satisfied with his performance, hoped to keep him, once again. An offer of a two-year extension, with a salary slightly higher than €7.5 million per year, was made. But it has so far remained unanswered. This did not worry the Old Lady at first, but she is starting to find the time long. Especially since Adrien Rabiot has had a particularly convincing start to the Euro with the French team. Enough to finally convince her suitors to take action.

Juve annoyed

As reported by several Italian media outlets on Monday, Juve has clearly understood what is going on, namely the departure of the 29-year-old French international. The Turin club now suspects that the Rabiot clan will say no. Last season, Rabiot’s contract extension was announced on June 27. We are almost there, but there will be no happy ending for the Turin club, which has already activated other options for its midfield, such as Douglas Luiz and Khéphren Thuram.

Sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli is reportedly annoyed by Adrien Rabiot, who is said to be favouring a higher salary offer than Juventus. Real Madrid have recently looked into the Frenchman’s case, while clubs such as Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Manchester United are also interested. The Premier League, which Rabiot has always wanted to discover, could well be the chosen destination. It remains to be seen whether we will find out the player’s choice before the end of the Euro.
