While most countries have their eyes fixed on Euro 2024 and its enticing matches, clubs are already preparing for their upcoming deadlines by planning their summer strategy for the upcoming transfer window. And if there is one team that will be scrutinized, it will be FC Barcelona, which has really struggled to return to the European summits with solidity and regularity for several seasons. Financial problems are absolutely not helping president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco in their “reconstruction mission”. This summer promises to be particularly crucial for the Catalan president, widely criticized and questioned by the socios. The club’s sporting results are average to say the least, the economic situation seems to be deteriorating year after year to the point where the club cannot recruit, and the management of certain files such as Messi, Koeman and Xavi has been quite controversial.

In fact, an opposition group should be revealed to the public soon. It is led by Joan Camprubí Montal, a 36-year-old engineer and club member who has already been very critical of the current president on social media and who has the stated goal of taking his place in the near future. The group’s project will be presented to the public in the coming months and has a very clear goal: to save the club from the disastrous situation in which it is stuck. It already has a lot of support, mainly among the younger members. To save his head, Joan Laporta must therefore make a big move in the summer transfer window to surround his young executives Lamine Yamal, Pedri, Gavi and company and thus give solid weapons to the new tactician Hansi Flick.

Negotiations on track but…

Colombian winger Luis Diaz of Liverpool is one of the summer priorities of FC Barcelona to give a quality leap to the team now coached by Hansi Flick. According to the Colombian press, confirmed by the Catalan media of SPORT and of World Sportsa meeting will take place soon between the entourage of the Reds player and the emissaries of the Catalan club in the United States with the aim of locking in the possible arrival of the native of Barrancas in Catalonia. The Colombian press also adds that Luis Díaz “would be on the right track” to leave Anfield and head to La Liga, although there is still a long way to go in the talks. Although figures have not yet been discussed, his market value is estimated at around €75 million, with a contract running with Liverpool until the summer of 2027.

In fact, it is no secret that FC Barcelona’s financial problems are not new. The signing of Luis Díaz for Barça would be a luxury reinforcement for the offensive lines, although his hypothetical incorporation would lead, by domino effect, to the need to make a big sale. The Catalan management is still waiting for a departure to know the cost ceiling of the squad registered in La Liga and the remaining finances, linked to the financial fair play established by the Spanish body, to make possible new signings. In any case, Luis Díaz is currently focused on the Colombian national team with whom he will play the Copa América in the United States, being the main leader of coach Néstor Lorenzo. He will be in Uncle Sam’s country at least until July 3, when the Colombians will face Brazil in the third and final day of the group stage.
