More than a billion euros spent since Todd Boehly’s arrival. And yet, Chelsea continues to struggle. The London team, which finished in sixth position in the last edition of the Premier League and which has just appointed Enzo Maresca to its bench, has not managed to get back to the top of the English championship and has fallen far behind its competitors not so long ago.

Worse, the Blues have seen clubs like Aston Villa pass them by. And Chelsea have a plan to try to replay the top spots next season. In addition to having appointed Maresca, the club intends to strengthen the team significantly. New XXL expenses are therefore to be expected. For example, an agreement has reportedly been reached with Aston Villa for Jhon Durán, a promising Colombian striker who is in line with the Blues’ recent recruits, who are looking to pile up the nuggets.

Atletico is demanding

And according to the latest information from Sky ItalyChelsea are targeting another promising young striker. It is Samu Omorodion, who belongs to Atlético de Madrid. The Spanish Under-21 international was on loan at Alavés this season, where he had a great season, with 9 goals in 35 La Liga matches. The Colchoneros had signed the 20-year-old striker from Granada a year ago for 6 million euros and could use him to replenish the coffers this summer.

According to the Italian media, an offer of 40 million euros made by Chelsea was rejected by the Colchoneros. The latter estimate that the player is worth double that, 80 million euros, the amount of his release clause, even if the Spanish media indicate that the Madrilenians will settle for less. Diego Simeone could also have his say in the event that he wishes to keep the player who will surely play in the Olympics with the Iberian country…
