The 26-year-old seemed to indicate that his teammate Heung-Min Son and all “his cousins look alike.” A remark that sparked several reactions. Bentancur apologized on social media to put an end to the start of this controversy.
“Brother Sonny! I apologize to you for what happened, it was just a really bad joke. There’s no reason for me to disrespect you or hurt you or anyone else, I love you brother! I love you, brother!”said the former Juventus Turin player. Heung-Min Son has already said he was a victim of racism when he was young.
