After winning a new Champions League with Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti is having more complicated times. So, as reported Mundo Deportivo, the 65-year-old Italian technician finds himself in the sights of the Spanish justice system, which has requested no less than five years in prison against the former PSG coach. The Spanish media specifies, in this regard, that the Mister is accused of tax evasion for more than 1 million euros. An accusation relating to income received between the 2014 tax year and that of 2015, during his first adventure with the Merengues. As indicated by MD, who had access to the documents of the State Attorney, Ancelotti was obliged to pay taxes in Spain for all the income obtained. However, the Real Madrid coach only included in his income tax return the remuneration for his work in Madrid and not the profits from the exploitation of his image rights.

The Treasury therefore considers that there was “concealment and failure to report” for this income. In 2021, Ancelotti went to court and in his statement he admitted that he had not paid taxes correctly for the 2014 tax year due to “bad advice”. Ancelotti, for his part, explained his version last March. “It’s a story that started in 2015 with a declaration. The prosecutor’s office thinks I was a resident of Spain and I think I wasn’t. I have already paid the fine and the money is in the prosecutor’s office.”, declared the Madrid coach. To be continued…
