The defeat in the Europa League semi-final against Atalanta Bergamo relieved Olympique de Marseille of a transfer, that of Joaquin Correa. The 29-year-old striker, on loan from Inter Milan to OM, would have remained in Provence via a clause in his loan if the Phocaeans had qualified for the Champions League. His return to Italy should be short-lived since coach Simone Inzaghi is not counting on him, given his performance on the field and his salary (3.5 million euros for one more season).
According to information from the Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter Milan is prospecting in Türkiye where Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe have the financial means to recruit him. The Nerazzurri are asking for 10 million euros to buy out the last year of the 30-year-old Argentine’s contract, and avoid a significant loss, Inter having recruited him for 30 million euros.
