He was one of the players who chose to try the Saudi adventure last summer, notably accompanying Karim Benzema. Which, after a fairly successful season with Al-Ittihad on an individual level, did not prevent him from being called up for the Euro by Didier Deschamps. A choice which surprised people in France, but which the former Monaco, OM and Juve player easily justified.

“I can understand that the supporters of the France team did not follow his journey, he is now in Saudi Arabia, it is more complicated, he came out of a 2022/2023 season with a major injury, but without that would have been part of my list for the World Cup in Qatar. After that, he had a full season, he regained all his physical abilities and thanks to his experience and his physique, I am convinced that the French team will be better with him”confided the national coach.

He doesn’t see himself at PSG

And for its future? Asked by Téléfoot on a possible return to Europe, N’Golo Kanté more or less avoided the question. “These are questions that need to be thought about all the same. It’s true that the Premier League and European football, when we look from there, it always speaks to us, it always represents something”replied the former Caen man.

Then, he was questioned about PSG and a possible transfer to the capital club. There, on the other hand, he was more explicit, making it clear that he did not see himself in Paris. ” I’m Parisian. But I don’t think so. There were possibilities at one point, discussions, but it didn’t happen. Today, I saw their progress in the Champions League and in the championship, frankly they have a great midfield and a great team, it’s not something that I put in my head.”, replied Kanté. It’s pretty clear.
