Heard by the DNCG, OM must still provide additional documents to pass the obstacle of the financial policeman.

Wednesday,
Pablo Longoria passed before the National Directorate of Management Control (DNCG), namely the commission responsible for monitoring the accounts of professional football clubs in France. The president of
Marseille Olympic was to present the budget of the Marseille club for next season.

After hearing the Olympian leader, the financial policeman of French football did not issue any definitive sanction. However, he requested additional information in order to rule on OM’s case. In Ligue 1, Le Havre finds itself in the same situation, while Auxerre, Lille, Montpellier and Toulouse see no measures taken towards them.

The deficit filled… At first only

According to information from The Team, OM would have ended the last financial year with a deficit of 70 million euros. This colossal amount should be covered by Frank McCourt’s own funds. However, the deficit risks widening further at the end of the 2024-2025 season given that the team from the South of France will not have taken part in any European competition.

The leaders of Olympique Lyonnais were also due to appear before the DNCG on June 12. The financial control body finally suggested that they reschedule the meeting at the end of the month, so that the Rhone club completes its current sales.
