It was announced, it is now official. Just a few months after taking charge of Lazio, Igor Tudor is giving up his apron. In disagreement with his management and at odds with Mattéo Guendouzi, the Croatian technician resigned this Wednesday evening.

“SS Lazio announces that Igor Tudor has today resigned as head coach of the first team. The club thanks the coach for his work and wishes him the best of luck personally and professionally.”, indicates the press release from the Italian club. An announcement which puts an end to three short months of collaboration between the two parties.

Tudor didn’t last long

After 6 wins, 3 draws and 2 defeats, Tudor had a positive record with Lazio. However, everything quickly deteriorated due to the complicated relations he had with several elements of the Roman workforce. We think of Daichi Kamada, Taty Castellanos and Matteo Zaccagni. But it was especially with the Frenchman Mattéo Guendouzi who the tensions were the most palpable.

Except that the management of Lazio has decided. By maintaining her confidence in her players, she sent a clear message to Tudor. A coach with a strong character, Tudor therefore did not agree to live an entire season in this explosive context. Once again on the market, will the Croatian find a club? For its part, Lazio is thinking of Marco Baroni to replace him.
