“Two different people,” Götze not tender with Guardiola!

Mario Götze has been one of the most talented players in German football but also in world football in recent years. The German attacking midfielder entered the hearts of the Germans thanks to his goal in the 2014 World Cup final against Argentina (1-0).

However, despite this historic goal, his career struggled to take off. Often affected by injuries and sometimes irregular, his career did not match his talent.

His time at Bayern Munich from 2013 to 2016, which was supposed to send him to a new dimension, didn’t really go as planned. The former German international was not always part of the plans of his coach Pep Guardiola who nevertheless appreciated his profile.

In an interview given to Zeit, the former number 19 of the German selection also mentioned his former coach. The attacking midfielder returned to the personality of the Catalan coach who behaves differently depending on the matches.

“SThe tension was enormous. His behavior was very different depending on whether we were about to play a Bundesliga or Champions League match. They were two different people.” he blurted. Words that could make the person concerned react.

Under contract with Eintracht Frankfurt

At 32, Mario Götze is no longer at the peak of his career. The talented German is currently playing in the squad of Eintracht Frankfurt where he is not a regular starter. This season, he has played no less than 41 matches in all competitions for a total of 4 goals and 4 assists. His contract with the German club ends in June 2026.
