Founding member of the Super League, Juventus was one of the three rebellious teams compared to UEFA with FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. The people of Turin had nevertheless taken a step back on this project following the departure of its former president Andrea Agnelli. The latter threw in the towel while the club was in the middle of a legal investigation. Less involved in this project without the man who initiated it, the Vecchia Signora decided to leave the Super League and get closer to UEFA by joining the ECA again.

“I start the meeting with very important news. After having several meetings recently with their management and owners, I am happy to announce that Juventus have applied to join the ECA, which will be formalized shortly. The ECA door is always open to clubs who believe in collective interests, progressive reforms and who work constructively with all stakeholders. We are delighted that Juventus is joining the European football family.”declared Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, president of Paris Saint-Germain, but also of the ECA in a meeting this Saturday in London.
