In comments provided to the leading American media CNN, Kylian Mbappé (25 years old) explains why he decided to extend his contract with PSG in 2022 despite repeated advances from Real Madrid.
The organization of the World Cup in Qatar, the country of the owners of PSG, greatly influenced his decision, as he himself admits.
Mbappé finally explains himself
“ It was more than PSG, there was the World Cup in Qatar, there were lots of things around that“, he admits. “ It was a big and difficult decision. It was very difficult for a 20 year old boy (he was 23 years old, Editor’s note). But I don’t regret anything. In a career you have to make tough decisions and that’s what I did. Afterwards, I became the top scorer in PSG history. I just want to remember the beautiful things. Of course, it wasn’t an easy situation, I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. »
As a reminder, Mbappé has indeed left PSG this season and his long-awaited transfer to PSG should soon be announced.
