Samuel Eto’o verbally attacked Cameroon coach Marc Brys. The Cameroonian legend could make his mea culpa.

The scene went viral! Samuel Eto’o, the president of the Cameroonian football federation, insulted Marc Brys, the new coach of the Indomitable Lions, like a kid in full view of everyone. With flowery language, he literally ridiculed him when there was no reason to raise his voice at all.

Brys is not ready to forgive

This slip by the legend of African football was then followed by the dismissal of the Belgian technician. The latter is therefore no longer in charge of the Cameroonian selection. A radical decision which comes at a critical moment, since Zambo Anguissa and his teammates will play two very important qualifying matches during the month of June (against Cape Verde and Angola).

Brys publicly complained about the treatment to which he was entitled, he who is only a simple collateral victim of a conflict between FECAFOOT and the Ministry of Sports in Cameroon. “ There, he clearly went too far. I work for the Ministry of Sports, not for the federation”, he blurted out at the Last Hour.

Eto’o ready to make amends?

Eto’o, the repeat offender

Indeed, the former Real and Barça striker has gone too far and this is not his first bout of blood. During the last World Cup in Qatar, he also dared to attack a journalist outside a stadium.

At the time, the man who had been voted best African player of the year four times, became aware of his deplorable action and ended up apologizing. He could do the same this time, especially since it is in Cameroon’s interest. Given the disorder reigning in Yaoundé, the selection could very well be suspended by continental or international authorities.
