Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had a great season at Olympique de Marseille. With a remarkable record of 30 goals scored and 11 assists in 51 matches in all competitions, the Gabonese striker has been a strong man for Ciel et Blanc throughout the entire 2023-24 financial year.
Despite its performances, PEA could not prevent OM from finishing in 8th place in the Ligue 1 standings. And in recent weeks, its future in the Marseille city appeared uncertain. Indeed, his contract, which expires in June 2026, has attracted the attention of several clubs, notably in Saudi Arabia.
Aubameyang’s strong choice
While the Al-Shabab club was mentioned as a possible base for the former Arsenal player, Sky Sports also indicated that Olympian leaders were not against the idea of selling Aubameyang.
However, Foot Mercato affirms this Tuesday that the player himself would have no intention of leaving Marseille this summer. The latter would be driven by a “strong desire” to continue his adventure on the Canebière.
