Kylian Mbappé inherited a prize this Tuesday evening that he absolutely did not expect.
Two weeks after being named best player in the French championship, Kylian Mbappé received another individual trophy. The Bondyn crack player was awarded the prize for the best player performing in Europe.
It was during the Globe Soccer Awards that the French striker received an award. The ceremony was organized in Sardinia, Italy. It was the fans who voted, through a survey offered over six days on the Globe Soccer website.
Kylian Mbappé beat Harry Kane
Mbappé was preferred to Harry Kane for this title. The Englishman had nevertheless beaten him in the race for the Golden Shoe. Among the others nominated for this award, there was also Jude Bellingham, Antoine Griezmann and Vinicius Jr.
Mbappé ended the season with a total of 44 goals scored and 10 assists offered, in all competitions. His second part of the season was however disrupted by a conflict with his club and recurring trips to the bench. On a collective level, he led Paris to a national double.
Note also that Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal received the prize for best youngster, while Xabi Alonso (Bayer Leverkusen) was named best coach.
