Saturday evening, Olympique Lyonnais lost in the final of the Coupe de France against Paris Saint-Germain at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy (2-1). An evening marked by the 15th coronation of the capital club in the oldest French competition as well as by clashes between supporters of the two camps on a motorway rest area at the Fresnes-lès-Montauban tollbooth before kick-off . This Sunday, OL strongly condemned these deplorable events.

“Olympique Lyonnais strongly condemns and regrets the violence that occurred on the sidelines of the OL-PSG Coupe de France match, during a trip organized by one of its supporters groups. The club wishes to return to several factual points and encourages victims to file a complaint today to shed light on these events. The club is also available to victims to support them in their procedure. Olympique Lyonnais recalls that the buses chartered by KOP Virage Nord supporters went to the correct meeting point for the police escort, where they were taken care of by the police, with , for some, delay following a traffic accident during departure. For reasons yet to be determined, the police escort decided to pass seven Lyon coaches among the eighteen Parisian coaches gathered at the Fresnes toll booth, while for two months, all stakeholders had been working on the separation of flows. . Following this obvious misdirection, violence broke out without the origin being clearly established. We hope that the video surveillance images will make it possible to trace all the facts. Several OL supporters were injured, notably by armed PSG supporters. A Lyon bus was set on fire after smoke bombs were thrown inside. Olympique Lyonnais would like to thank the police and the passengers who had the good reflexes to extract people from the bus quickly, particularly young children, and thus avoid tragedies. OL specifies that it will become a civil party for all procedures that will be opened.we can read in the press release from the Rhone club.
