While his participation in the Euro seemed threatened for a time, Mike Maignan should finally be at Clairefontaine on Wednesday.

Expected to be the starting goalkeeper for the Blues at the Euro, Mike Maignan will be somewhat short of pace when it comes time to start the competition. Consequence of the physical problems which accumulate for the French goalkeeper and which mean that he has not played a single match since April 22.

After postponing his return after hamstring discomfort, the former Lille player had to give up the final day due to a finger injury in training on Thursday. While the first information raised fears of the worst, the examinations were certainly very quickly reassuring. More than a fracture, Mike Maignan only suffers from a slight dislocation.

However, stitches had to be placed according to The Team and requires him to follow a treatment protocol for a week. This new twist of fate does not only have disadvantages for the Guyanese and the Blues. The French goalkeeper was in fact exempted from the trip to Australia which should conclude the AC Milan season.
