End of La Liga this weekend. At 6:30 p.m. two matches took place without any real stakes. Rayo Vallecano hosted Athletic Bilbao at the Vallecas Stadium. Deprived of Iñaki Williams and with an alternate team, Ernesto Valverde’s men offered nothing during an hour of play, before the score changed. The Basque nugget concluded the action after an excellent service from Alex Berenguer (0-1, 67th). Bilbao will play next season in the Europa League with this 5th place. Rayo Vallecano will finish the season in 16th or 17th place (if Mallorca wins at least one point tomorrow against Getafe).
Almería hosted Cádiz in a new Andalusian derby for the second match. Cádiz and Almería, already sure of relegation, were playing for honor today. Released, the Cádiz players managed their first half well. Brian Ocampo waited until the final part of the season to score his first goal in La Liga this season (0-1, 30th). But Almería completely changed its face in the second act and scored three goals consecutively in less than ten minutes (48th, 52nd, 57th). Former Marseillais Luis Suarez then scored twice (65th, 71st). Sergio Arribas concluded the party (6-1, 86th). Last, the Almería players finished in style in front of their supporters.
