Bayern Munich are set to appoint relegated Burnley manager Vincent Kompany as Thomas Tuchel’s successor.

According to the Telegraph, the Bundesliga giants are in advanced talks to appoint Kompany as their new manager and could officially announce the Burnley coach’s arrival in the coming days. Bayern will, however, have to pay compensation to the Clarets, as the 38-year-old coach has an active contract at Turf Moor until 2028.

The report also claims that the former Manchester City captain will take his entire coaching staff to the Allianz Arena, including assistant manager Craig Bellamy and first-team coaches Piet Cremers, Mike Jackson and Floribert N’Galula .

Bayern opts for Kompany

Kompany retired in 2020 after winning four Premier League titles as Cityzens captain. After retiring, he took charge of Belgian club Anderlecht which he managed for three years before joining Burnley in 2022. In his first season in charge of the club, the former defender helped the club to win the league title and gain promotion to the Premier League.

However, the club only lasted one season in the top flight before returning to the second division after finishing in 19th place in the 2023-24 campaign.
