The head of state is involved in the transfer of Kylian Mbappé to Real Madrid and would have spoken to the Merengue president…
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez was in Paris on Tuesday to attend a FIFA anniversary gala, celebrating 120 years since the founding of football’s governing body, and crossed paths with French President Emmanuel Macron. It was the latter who wanted to see the commander-in-chief of the Santiago Bernabeu.
The subject close to his heart was Kylian Mbappé, and while he did not suggest that he wanted the French striker to stay in Paris – as was the case in 2022 – Macron was keen for Mbappé to return quickly for the Olympic Games which will take place in the French capital this summer.
Macron gets involved in Mbappé’s transfer
The Games should begin just ten days after the Euro final. According to MD, Macron spoke to Perez about the possibility of Mbappé leading the French team’s offensives under the direction of Thierry Henry. Perez rejected his request, which implies that the French star will join Los Blancos at the end of July or the beginning of August, after the holidays following the Euro.
It is likely that the Bondynois will be presented before this date and that he will be included in the pre-season tour. The chance to introduce American crowds to what is arguably the world’s best striker, and its biggest signing since Cristiano Ronaldo, will be irresistible to Real Madrid. It could well bring millions to Los Blancos too.
