Al-Hilal coach Jorge Jesus has ended hopes of a Neymar return this summer.
Neymar’s Saudi adventure came to an end. Arriving at Al-Hilal in August 2023 from Paris Saint-Germain, the Brazilian striker saw his season come to an abrupt end in October. Indeed, the Auriverde star suffered a rupture of the cruciate ligaments and the meniscus of his left knee during a qualifying match for the 2026 World Cup with the Seleçao.
After an operation carried out in Brazil in November, Neymar convalesced in his native country until his return to the Gulf last February. His coach, Jorge Jesus, recently gave an update on the 32-year-old’s health.
No preseason for Neymar
“All I know at the moment is that the time needed for Neymar to recover, and in general for this type of injury, is 10 to 11 months”declared the Portuguese coach to journalists.
Jorge Jesus also confirmed that Neymar would not be back for the start of next season. “If we do the math, he will not be ready to do the pre-season preparation (which starts this summer, editor’s note)”he said.
