Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is one of many people disappointed by Toni Kroos’ decision to retire from football this summer.
The Italian desperately tried to convince Kroos to sign for another season, but to no avail.
Ancelotti was still counting on Kroos to start next season, but with his departure, a plan has already been drawn up to “replace” the German maestro. According to Marca, the idea is for Jude Bellingham to take the role vacated by Kroos, meaning he will play much lower down than he has this season.

If Ancelotti sticks to the 4-4-2/4-1-2-1-2 hybrid system, Bellingham will likely play alongside Aurélien Tchouameni or Eduardo Camavinga in the midfield axis, which will allow a certain Kylian Mbappé to enter the team alongside Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes in attack.
Bellingham may not have the impact of a goalscorer like he did in his first season, but he will still play an important role for Real Madrid in attack. However, he will have his work cut out for him, as few players can match Kroos’ quality as a game controller…
