Continuation of the 37th day of Serie A this Saturday evening. Torino opened the doors of its Olimpico – Grande Torino stadium to AC Milan. If this poster counted for nothing for the Milanese, the Granata had a lot to play for with a European dream still possible if the cards fell on the right side and Ivan Juric’s players were aware of this. They quickly opened the scoring with a powerful header from Duvan Zapata (26th), well imitated by Ivan Ilic who also doubled the lead with a header (40th). Returning from the locker room, the Granata widened the gap with a curling shot from Ricardo Rodriguez into the top corner (46th). The penalty converted by Ismaël Bennacer saved the honor for Milan (55th).
Thanks to this large, controlled victory (3-1), Torino moved up to 9th place ahead of Napoli, this means that the Granata would provisionally compete in the Europa Conference League next season in the event of Fiorentina’s success in the C4 final against Olympiakos. In the rest of the ranking, AC Milan still comfortably holds a place on the Serie A podium with this 2nd good position. Next weekend, the Turinese will face Atalanta, while the Rossoneri will finish at San Siro against Salernitana, during the 38th day of the Italian championship.
