At 37 years old and after three seasons in Rossonere colors, the French striker will leave Serie A and Europe. In an interview given to the official media of the Lombard club, the 2018 world champion formalized his departure at the end of the season. He also took the opportunity to confirm that his future will take him to Major League Soccer, on the other side of the Atlantic.

“I am here to tell you that I will play my last two matches with Milan. I will continue my career, but in MLS. I am very proud of everything I have done with Milan during these three years. This is a good time to say it. I’m a little emotional. My story with Milan ends this season, but Milan will always remain in my heart. »

Head to MLS

With the red and black, the native of Chambéry will have done a good job. Crowned Italian champion in 2022, the Frenchman played a major role in ending an eleven-year drought in Serie A for the Milanese. Author of 48 goals and 20 assists in 130 matches in all competitions, Giroud has also demonstrated that he remains a formidable scorer despite his age.

As he indicated, the Frenchman will therefore leave Italy and even Europe to try the American adventure in MLS. As we revealed to you, the former Montpellier resident will bounce back to Los Angeles FC after Euro 2024. He has signed for the 2024 and 2025 seasons (+ an optional additional year) and will join his friend Hugo Lloris there.
