This time it’s official: Ethan Mbappé will no longer be a PSG player next season. His mother and agent, Fayza Lamouri, confirmed it during the farewell evening organized by Kylian Mbappé this Monday evening in a Parisian restaurant.
If she refused to reveal the destination of the French world champion, contenting herself with “But you already know that”, she noted the departure of her other son from the capital club. “(Is there emotion?) Obviously. There are your two children who are leaving the club… It was seven great years, it was celebrated with the staff, quite simply”she confided.
Following the announcement of the departure of his big brother this winter, Ethan Mbappé did not hide his wish to continue the adventure in Paris despite the situation. Questioned by Luis Enrique after his brother’s speech in front of his teammates, he was also clear: “I’m a real Titi, I stay at PSG”, he replied while those close to the matter assured that the decision of the top scorer in Ligue 1 should not impact the discussions concerning the U16 international.
The revenge of Nasser Al-Khelaïfi
But that was without counting on Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, determined to make the Mbappé clan pay for the departure of their big brother. Discussions surrounding his extension were quickly frozen by the Parisian president and the capital club showed little enthusiasm for the idea of bringing back the young midfielder. So much so that Ethan Mbappé had to come to terms and discuss with other clubs. If a signing for Real Madrid was quickly ruled out, the native of Montreuil was seduced by Losc’s speech and an agreement could quickly be found between the two parties.
Ethan Mbappé only wore the PSG jersey five times, having to make do with brief appearances each time. He nevertheless had the pleasure of playing with his big brother, notably on December 20 for his first match in Ligue 1. It was the same at Revel and Orléans in the Coupe de France then at Lorient last month. And if he played almost half an hour on Sunday for the last match of the season in Ligue 1, Kylian Mbappé was not in the game.
