After Endrick, transferred to Real Madrid for a record sum, Palmeiras is about to complete a new deal with one of its 17-year-old young talents: Estêvão Willian, more commonly known as Messinho. Quickly considered one of the most promising talents of his generation, he was scrutinized by PSG, Barça, Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United and even Chelsea. After making his professional debut last season, Messinho has scored one goal in 6 days this season.

He also scored three goals and provided three assists at last year’s Under-17 World Cup, where Brazil reached the quarter-finals. And the 1m76 right winger, under contract until June 2026, finally chose to join the Chelsea Blues, despite several offers from PSG in particular. And despite a deficit of around €290 million, which they intend to restore through sales, the Londoners managed to find a verbal agreement with Palmeiras to afford it.

A seven-year contract for Estêvão Willian

According to information from The Athletic, Chelsea reached a verbal agreement with Palmeiras to recruit Estêvão Willian. While the left-hander had a release clause of €60 million, the Blues will pay €34 million for the 17-year-old winger, plus a further €23 million linked to performance-based bonuses in his current club and during his debut at Chelsea. A bit like Endrick at Real Madrid, Estêvão Willian will officially move to Stamford Bridge in 2025, when he turns 18.

Chelsea would have had the advantage in this matter, because the London club would have had the player for several years already. But that’s not all, since the American media tells us that the young Brazilian will sign a contract for at least seven years with Chelsea, for a total amount of 57 million euros. A nice move made by Palmeiras, but which will therefore lose its two talents, Messinho and Endrick. But also by the Blues, who managed to surpass all European competition.
