Following on from Lazio Rome’s victory against Empoli at the start of the afternoon, two other posters were to follow as part of the 36th day of Serie A, this Sunday. Traveling on the Genoa pitch, Sassuolo fell back into their ways and made their task very difficult in the quest to maintain their position (2-1). Yet ahead following a penalty converted by Pinamonti, the Neroverdi paid the cost of their opponents’ comeback in the second half who moved up to 11th place in the league.

At the same time, Hellas Verona hosted Torino on its land. Trailing shortly after the hour mark, the Garnets turned the game around in the last quarter of an hour thanks to goals from Sarva and Pellegri. With this success (1-2), the Piedmontese team returns to a unit in 8th place, synonymous with qualification for a European Cup.
