After a turbulent return to Barcelona during the quarter-final of the Champions League won by PSG, Ousmane Dembélé will face the reception of Borussia Dortmund supporters who are angry with him.
At the end of the season, Ousmane Dembélé is particularly prominent for Paris Saint-Germain. Displaying a very satisfactory level of play, the French international was one of the main architects of his team’s qualification for the semi-finals of the Champions League, during the double confrontation against FC Barcelona. Against his former club which he left hastily last summer, Ousmane Dembélé was able to ignore the stormy reception given to him by his former Blaugrana supporters. And he will have to put himself in his bubble again on Wednesday evening, near Dortmund.
Because chance ensured that the former Stade Rennais was opposed in quick succession to two teams whose jersey he wore and which he left each time a little brutally. If he left Barça because Paris paid his release clause (50 million euros), things happened differently at Borussia. Arriving in the summer of 2016, the Frenchman quickly found his place and won over the supporters borussen. The problem is that he left for the clash a year later and voluntarily boycotted training to get the BvB to let him go to FC Barcelona. An episode that has still not passed.
A sour welcome
And anger returns at full gallop among the supporters of the German club, when it comes to Ousmane Dembélé. So much so that, according to information revealed Tuesday in the columns of The Team, the famous “Yellow Wall” is preparing a wonderful reception for him. The Parisian player should not be disturbed more than that by what awaits him, but the pressure will no less be put on him by his former public who would have liked to see him grow a little longer in front of him.
It therefore remains to be seen how Ousmane Dembélé will react to the context. On the PSG side, we obviously hope that they will offer the same face as during the trip to Montjuïc. More generally, Luis Enrique’s team will have to do what is necessary to put in a good performance in Dortmund and ensure a slightly more comfortable return next week at the Parc des Princes. Ousmane Dembélé will have his part to play in this challenge.
