Bayern Munich and Real Madrid face each other this Tuesday in the semi-final first leg of the Champions League (9 p.m.). Here is the expected lineup for the Merengue.

After a season marked by big losses, Real Madrid finally sees its infirmary empty. Carlo Ancelotti confirmed in recent days that Thibaut Courtois is on his way back, while Eder Militao has already returned to training. The Belgian and the Brazilian will, however, be too short to tackle such a prestigious clash against Bayern Munich. Real will also have to do without David Alaba against the Bavarian giant.

Carlo Ancelotti will still have to rack his brains for his defensive line and his midfielder. These are the two most uncertain areas in view of Real’s composition for this first round. The first question concerns the position of Aurélien Tchouaméni: will the Frenchman play in central defense? If this is the case, the former Monegasque will then be preferred to the experienced Nacho. But he is also in balance with his compatriot Eduardo Camavinga for a place in the middle.

Lucas Vazquez should start

For the rest, there should be no major surprises in the eleven concocted by Ancelotti. Lunin, decisive in the quarter against Manchester City, is expected to continue in goals. Lucas Vazquez should replace Carvajal on the right side with the latter’s suspension, while Rüdiger and Ferland Mendy are tipped to complete this four-man defense.

In the midfield, Kroos and Valverde should bring their tactical knowledge and their taste for combat. Jude Bellingham will be lined up in his number 10 role behind the Brazilian Vinicius-Rodrygo tandem.

The expected line-up for Real Madrid : Lunin – Vazquez, Rüdiger, Tchouaméni, Mendy – Camavinga, Kroos, Valverde – Bellingham – Vinicius, Rodrygo.
