The management of AC Milan has reportedly made its choice regarding Stefano Pioli’s replacement on the bench.
Stefano Pioli will not continue in his mission as coach of AC Milan at the end of the current campaign. His succession is open and if we are to believe the latest echoes emanating from Italy his replacement has already been found.
Ibrahimovic wants his former teammate on the Milan bench
According to The Telegraph, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who personally oversees this file, would have set his sights on his former Rossonerro teammate Mark Van Bommel. The Dutchman has not really succeeded in his last experiences in Wolfsburg and Antwerp but he maintains a high rating.
Van Bommel would therefore be the favorite to land at San Siro. Discussions could also accelerate in the coming hours. If he signs, he will be the very first Batavian coach to lead this team.
Galtier out of the race
The 2010 world vice-champion was preferred to other coaches who had been considered for this position. The Frenchman Christophe Galtier was notably surveyed, as was the Spaniard Julen Lopetegui.
Milan is currently at 2e place in the Serie A standings. The title is lost but the Rossonerri are on track to finish on the podium once again and compete in the next Champions League campaign.
