The day after Olympique Lyonnais qualified for the Champions League final, Eugénie Le Sommer regrets the little space given to her team on the front page of L’Equipe.

This is unfortunately a frequent debate, because the front page of L’Equipe cannot please everyone. This Monday, it is Eugénie Le Sommer who regrets the little space given to women’s football on the first page of the leading sports daily in France.

Sunday, Olympique Lyonnais qualified for a new Champions League final, the eleventh in its history, at the end of a 100% French semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain (1-2). But L’Equipe preferred to highlight the title of French champion of the men’s PSG, made official on Sunday evening, with also regional headlines for Stade Brestois and Olympique de Marseille.

Le Sommer does his press review

With an emoji, Le Sommer illustrates the fact that you have to look for a long time to find the teaser dedicated to the Lyonnaises, at the top right of the front page of L’Equipe, with still a small photo of the joy of Sonia’s players Bompastor.

Currently injured, Le Sommer was not on the pitch at the Parc des Princes on Sunday for the semi-final won by OL. But in her press review, she also notes the front page of Le Progrès, the Rhone daily, which logically gives pride of place to the two victories of Olympique Lyonnais on Sunday, including that of Pierre Sage’s men against Monaco (3-2 ).
