Trailing in Strasbourg on Sunday afternoon, OGC Nice largely won (1-3) to come back to just two points behind 4th in the standings, Brest. Total suspense for the top 4 qualifiers for the next Champions League.

The 31st day of Ligue 1 (out of 34) may have turned the race for qualification into the Champions League upside down (three direct places and one in the 3rd preliminary round). Behind the future Parisian champion and AS Monaco, Losc took third place by beating Metz (1-2) on Sunday noon. Stade Brestois, now 4th, is in an unfavorable tie before its derby in Rennes in the afternoon.

In the meantime, OGC Nice, the 5th, came back to two points from the Brest surprise. And Francesco Fraioli’s team can dream big (even if it ends the season against PSG then Losc). The Aiglons won at Meinau (1-3), during the multiplex on Sunday at 3 p.m., while RC Strasbourg opened the scoring in the 18th minute through Dilane Bakwa (18th).

Dante’s head

The Niçois equalized before half-time, on a penalty converted by Evann Guessand (44th), for his sixth goal of the season. A great success for the center forward established by the Italian coach at the expense of Terem Moffi (entry in the 79th). Dante, with a header from a corner (52nd), and Morgan Sanson, with a sharp point at the end of the match (84th), allowed the visitors to leave with three precious points.

In the two other matches played at the same time, Clermont Foot finally returned to victory against Stade de Reims (4-1), with a double from Muhammed Cham from the penalty spot. The red lantern returns to four points from the 16th and play-off, FC Metz. FC Lorient remains penultimate with three points less than Messins after a defeat against Toulouse at Moustoir (1-2).
