László Bölöni’s FC Metz is furious with PSG!

The fight to remain is raging and some leaders are under more pressure than ever… This is particularly the case of László Bölöni, today on the bench of FC Metz and obviously concerned by the situation of the Moselle club, sixteenth in Ligue 1 after 31 days and in great danger. Defeated for the tenth time this season at home against LOSC (1-2), the Metz technician was inevitably bitter when he presented himself at a press conference. Neck and neck with Lorient and the HAC, also credited with 29 points, to save themselves, the residents of the Stade Saint-Symphorien will logically be able to regret the precious point won by the Ciel et Marine at the Parc des Princes (3-3) , this Saturday, to delay the celebration of the Parisians’ title of French champion.

Facing journalists, László Bölöni then suggested his frustration with the management of the capital club at the end of the 2023-2024 financial year. To the question of a journalist who asked him if he was furious with PSG who did not “not played for 75 minutes” against Le Havre, the person concerned then gave a response full of irony: this is the second time that this has happened… But what right do I have to express myself? And who has the right to speak on this? So maybe it’s smarter for me to shut up… not say anything. But if I keep quiet, that means I say a lot, said the 71-year-old Romanian coach.

A lack of fairness denounced…

A media release also echoing a previous remark made by the person concerned after the largely revised eleven of PSG against Clermont (1-1), at the beginning of April. I don’t want to offend PSG or the players who were used by saying that it was team B. What will the young people say about the way I consider them in this case? Yes it bothered me. But between saying and saying nothing, I prefer to say nothing. Frustrated, László Bölöni is not the only football player to complain. In recent weeks, Jean-Michel Roussier, president of the HAC, had also denounced Parisian behavior.

“It’s an absolute lack of respect for the French championship. Clermont, Metz, Lorient, Nantes… All these teams which played Paris did not have the incredible luck of having team B or C. Paris does what it wants, it is their freedom to play which they want to play. I sent a message to the League to congratulate the respect for fairness”, railed the Le Havre leader. If everyone will have an opinion on the question, the fight to maintain it is proving more intense than ever. Three days from the end, Metz thus occupies the place of play-off and intends to take advantage of the shocks which await the Le Havre, traveling to Nice on May 10 before welcoming Marseille for the last match of the season on May 19, to move up in the ranking. After Rennes and Strasbourg, the Grenats will close their season before the eyes of their public against… PSG. It now remains to be seen whether Luis Enrique will opt, again, for a certain turnover…
