After two matches of absence, Erling Haaland resumed with Manchester City, Sunday in Nottingham (0-2), and scored his 21st goal in the Premier League, to regain the lead in the scorers’ ranking.

Manchester City still has its destiny in its hands in the race in the Premier League… Pep Guardiola’s players won 2-0 at Nottingham Forest, the 17th in the standings, on Sunday afternoon, for the 35th day (out of 38). They come back to one point behind leader Arsenal but still with one game less, which they will play five days before the last day against Tottenham in the Spurs lair!

The reigning English champions will be able to count on Erling Haaland’s goals for their last four matches (then the FA Cup final against Man United). The Norwegian striker made his return after two matches of absence. Launched in the 62nd minute of the game, he scored the Cityzens’ second goal. Once is not customary, he hooked an opposing defender to cross his right-footed shot (71st). Haaland scores his 21st goal of the season in the PL and takes sole lead in the rankings goalscorers in front of Cole Palmer.

Before this goal from the break, Josko Gvardiol had opened the scoring with a header by springing at the near post from a corner from Kevin De Bruyne (32nd). The Belgian leader is the decisive passer on the two Mancunian goals… Man City continues with matches against Wolverhampton and Fulham, two teams which no longer play much (11th and 13th), before its last week of competition (Tottenham then, then West Ham).

For their part, Forest has only one point more than Luton, the first to be relegated, before facing the red lantern Sheffield United, already relegated to the Championship. Matz Sels was in goal, Willy Boly and Moussa Niakhaté played in defense and former Toulouse player Ibrahim Sangaré came into play.
