While the Champions League semi-final between PSG and Borussia Dortmund looms, the German club is not angry at a decision by the Parisian club.
After defeating Atlético de Madrid in the previous round, Borussia Dortmund won the right to play in the semi-finals of the Champions League which will pit them against Paris Saint-Germain. The German club will host the first leg before traveling to the Parc des Princes a few days later for the second and final round of the duel. On May 1, no fewer than 4,000 PSG fans are expected at Signal Iduna Park. But for the return, Paris has limited the number of places granted to BvB supporters. Enough to bring the German club out of its reserve.
According to information from Bild, this famous gauge has been revised downwards, going from 5% to 4% of the number of places available. This represents around 500 fewer tickets for Borussia fans. A decision considered all the more intolerable as the price of tickets is excessive (up to 500 euros). In comparison, the 1,500 members of the CUP who will travel to Dortmund on Wednesday paid 18.50 euros for their place. Obviously, resentment and incomprehension are common on Borussen’s side.
Complaint filed?
On the Parisian side, security is put forward as the explanation for the reduction in the number of tickets allocated. For the BvB, there is no question of stopping there. The German media thus indicated that discussions have already taken place and are still continuing at present between those responsible for the two clubs. If PSG’s decision is not new in itself and is approved by the French authorities, it does not go to the opposing side.
And always according to Bild, things could not stay there if no agreement more favorable to visitors is found. A complaint could thus be filed before the competent UEFA authorities. If necessary, this episode which is still awaiting its conclusion, could well add a little more fuel to the fire between supporters of the two camps.
