A departure would already be completed for Olympique de Marseille.

As the 2023-2024 financial year soon comes to an end, an OM player has already resolved the question of his future. At the end of his contract on June 30, Pape Gueye will leave the Marseille team free. The Senegalese international has even already reached an agreement with his future club.

According to daily information A.S., Pape Gueye would be on the verge of joining Marcelino’s Villarreal. Everything would already be closed. The 25-year-old midfielder should therefore commit to the Yellow Submarine for the next four seasons, i.e. until June 2028, with possibly an additional year as an option.

Longoria has it bad

After four seasons spent in Marseille, Pape Gueye will therefore offer himself a new challenge in a championship that he knows, he who was loaned for six months to Sevilla FC in 2023. As a reminder, the Lion of Teranga had been placed on removed by the management of OM after refusing to extend his lease, before being reinstated by Jean-Louis Gasset.

“We supported the player, we covered legal fees and paid compensation to Watford, we allowed him to trainr, lamented Pablo Longoria at the end of the winter transfer window. We want players who are committed and have the right mentality. As president, I must defend the interest of the club which is more important than the individual interest of players. »
