Dortmund stalls before Paris

Four days before hosting PSG in the Champions League, Borussia Dortmund was logically beaten in the Bundesliga.

Borussia Dortmund no longer has much of a lead in the championship. This is what we could deduce from the performance delivered this Saturday by the Schwarzgelben in the Bundesliga. Traveling to Leipzig, Terzic’s men lost quite logically (1-4).

The score delivered was therefore not convincing. However, Borussia was the first to score in this match. After 20 minutes of play, they were ahead thanks to a goal from Jadon Sancho, their man in form at the moment.

Dortmund had their minds elsewhere

The locals, however, were not able to savor this lead for too long. Leipzig’s equalizer came in the 23rde minute and was the work of Lois Openda (1-1). The former Lens player was also the decisive passer on the 3-1 goal scored by Mohamed Simakan (46e). And in the meantime, it was Benjamin Sesko who gave the visitors the advantage (45e). Finally, at the end of the match, the final blow was delivered by the returning Christoph Baumgartner.

Even if the team lined up at the start was not that of the starters, it was clearly not the best preparation for the reception of PSG in the Champions League. It will be Wednesday evening at Signal Iduna Park.
