Before its Europa Conference League semi-final, Aston Villa was held to a draw by Chelsea (2-3), after leading 2-0 at the break.

Funny evening for Aston Villa. Before their Europa Conference League semi-final, Unai Emery’s men missed the opportunity to take a big step towards qualifying for the Champions League.

The Villans led 2-0 at the break against Chelsea, after a CSC from Marc Cucurella (4th) and a goal from Morgan Rogers (42nd). But the Blues reacted in the second half, with goals from Noni Madueke (62nd) and Conor Galagher (81st). And Aston Villa was even saved by VAR with a goal denied to Axel Disasi (90th + 5).

In the standings, Aston Villa is still 4th, now 7 points ahead of Tottenham, with three games in hand for Spurs. Chelsea, for their part, remain in their anonymous 9th place.
