Paris Saint-Germain announced this Friday the official departure of Hugo Ekitike. Loaned to Frankfurt, the attacker is permanently transferred.

The matter was well underway, it is now closed. Having left on loan this winter to Eintracht Frankfurt, Hugo Ekitike will remain with the German club since the latter has exercised the option to purchase the striker who arrived from Paris Saint-Germain. On its social networks, the Parisian team confirmed the definitive departure of a player who will have been a real flop, or at least a big casting error.

In any case, this is very good news for Hugo Ekitike who will definitively turn the page on a calamitous chapter in his young career. Bought from the Stade de Reims for around thirty million euros, the offensive Frenchman has never managed to have the playing time necessary to demonstrate his talent. He also never knew how to seize the rare chances he had during his brief time at PSG.

New chapter

A fortnight ago, Eintracht sporting director Markus Krösche had already suggested that his club would do what was necessary to keep Ekitike. At the time, however, the player had not yet scored a single goal. He finally opened his account last week against Augsburg, further convincing Frankfurt to keep him. Concerning the transfer amount, Eintracht should pay roughly what Ekitike cost in Paris, around thirty million euros.

As he celebrates his twenty-second birthday on June 20, Hugo Ekitike will open a new chapter in his career for good. It is up to him to do what is necessary to confirm and establish himself in his Frankfurt team. His leaders believe in him and in this context which is much more fulfilling for him than at PSG, he will have to seize his chance to grow.
