A few weeks before the departure of Jürgen Klopp, Liverpool are making full progress in their search for a coach. A time cited to take over from the German, Xabi Alonso will ultimately stay in Leverkusen, as he had made public in recent weeks. So the last echoes of the British press turned to Ruben Amorim of Sporting Portugal, then to Arne Slot, the other popular coach who works at Feyenoord. But clearly, the Dutchman emerges today as the big favorite in this issue. A track which also appeals to Jürgen Klopp, who spoke highly of it this Friday at a press conference.

It’s the best job in the world. It’s the best club in the world, great work, great team, fantastic people, first confided the German coach. I like the way his team plays football. If it’s him, I like that he has this desire. I don’t know him, but some people who know him say he’s a good guy. I really like that (…) If he is the man for the job, I am more than happy. »
