Aliou Cissé discusses the popularity of Kylian Mbappé in Africa

Of Cameroonian origin on his father’s side and Algerian on his mother’s side, the heritage of the African continent is deeply rooted in Kylian Mbappé. Last July, the captain of the Blues made a three-day visit to Cameroon. Between school visits, meetings with the Prime Minister and a gala match, the PSG striker was able to measure his popularity in his father’s native country. In an interview given to ParisianAliou Cissé, the coach of Senegal, underlined the aura he possesses in Africa.

“Kylian Mbappé is really loved everywhere in Africa, but especially because of his performances. I think if he was Brazilian, people would love him just as much. People love the player above all” declared the former PSG player (1998-2001).
